My ‘tool shed’. The previous owner of this space hung wood-working tools and fishing gear here. Not me. Black paint and guitar parts is what you need for my handy-man zone.
I have the neck I removed from a $26.00 Tele clone I purchased from eBay, one of the Wilkinson humbucker pickups I bought to go into the same Tele and various other parts from the guitar converting projects I’ve attempted. Happy times …
I don’t believe I’ve shared this pic yet. Fender, Ibanez, Epiphone and Marshall. Such a happy family. Photo styling by Pixlromatic+
Some before and after iPhone photography shots of my Epiphone Les Paul. I used the default camera on the iPhone to take the photographs and then used the pixlr’o’matic+ app to stylise each photograph.
I’ve supplied the original photographs and three variations of both original photographs. The options for styling each image are almost endless with the filter packs you get in the + version of this app. So many combinations of image style, filter and frame.
I dug out some of my old records today. Yes, records. These are my Metallica singles. There’s Creeping Death, Jump in the Fire, Harvester of Sorrow and One. I wish I still had a record player!
I used my old Canon AV-1 recently as I wanted to revisit the glory days of photography with film. Today I picked up the developed film. With my developed film, I also received all of the photographs on a DVD. I thought I’d share some of those photographs in their natural format (no Photoshopping or cropping). What you see here is a collection of the photographs as they were developed.
The subject matter is of course guitar related. I captured my Marshall mini-stack amplifier, Epiphone Les Paul, Fender Stratocaster, some Grover Allman plectrums, a couple of guitar tuners and the very first guitar pedal I purchased over 20 years ago … My Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal.
Viewing the photos for the first time on developed film was exciting. I’d forgotten how cool that element of surprise was with non-digital photographs. I might have to do this again.
Another highlight of my recent trip to San Diego, California has to the variety of root beer I’ve managed to sample. I do love my root beer. It’s somewhat visually appealing as well it seems.
A wall of guitars at the end of the Taylor Guitars factory tour. I love that they’re hung backwards to display the beauty of the wood used in the guitars. These are seriously beautiful guitars. Art.
I visited the Taylor Guitar Visitor Center and went on their free factory tour. If you’re ever in San Diego, take the drive to El Cajon and visit the tour. It’s incredibly informative and inspirational. I left with a greater appreciation for acoustic guitars. I also left with some T-shirts :)
Moo business cards are cool. Especially when they’re your own. Moo business cards you got for free as a Klout perk are surely even better. I’m pretty sure mine are awesome. Thanks Moo and Klout … And social media!
The roll of film I used today. I missed the days of film. Many good memories. Thanks Kodak.
